National School Breakfast Week is happening this week, and your grade level could win a prize. The grade with the highest breakfast participation will take the victory!🎉

Celebration Week at Magee Elementary! 🍳📚 Magee Elementary is celebrating National School Breakfast Week with fun dress-up days to promote the importance of starting each day with a healthy breakfast! Plus, Monday is Dr. Seuss’s Day! Students are invited to join the fun by dressing up and celebrating the joy of reading inspired by Dr. Seuss’s wonderful stories. We can’t wait to see everyone’s creativity and school spirit!

✨ A Big Thank You to Our Firefighters! 🚒 Magee Elementary would like to give a huge thank you to our local firefighters for joining us to eat lunch with our First Grade Student of the Month for February! Your visit made our students feel so special. We also appreciate you taking the time to let our Kindergarten students tour the fire truck—what an exciting and educational experience for our youngest learners! 💛

📚✨ Magee Elementary Book Fair is Coming! ✨📚 We are excited to announce our upcoming Book Fair at Magee Elementary, happening March 2–6! We invite parents to come shop with their scholars during the designated times below: 📅 Tuesday, March 3 ✅ Kindergarten – 2nd Grade: 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM ✅ 3rd – 5th Grade: 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM 📌 Please note: Students in 3rd – 5th grade will be taking their Benchmark Assessment from 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM, so morning visits for these grades will not be available. Come support literacy, encourage a love for reading, and help build your child’s home library. We look forward to seeing you there! 📖💙

Magee Elementary would like to extend a hudge thank you to all of the participants who made our Beauty and Beau Pageant such a wonderful success! Your confidence, poise, and hard work truly made the event special, and we are so proud of each of you. We would also like to give a special thank you to our amazing judges — Rev. Ralph Walker, Ms. Chan Willis, and Ms. Deidra Nicole Floyd, for their time, dedication, and support in helping make this event memorable. A very special appreciation goes to our school counselor, Ruth Allen, and our PTO for their hard work, planning, and commitment to our students and school community. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success.

No School Tomorrow

🦕✨ Digging Into the Past! ✨🦕 Mrs. Higgins’s kindergarten class is exploring “Things of the Past” and learning how scientists discover history! This week, our little learners became junior scientists as they studied how we learn about the world long ago. Today, they stepped into the role of paleontologists 🦴🔍 and used special tools to carefully dig dinosaurs out of eggs! Along the way, they uncovered “fossils” and shared exciting facts about the different dinosaurs they discovered. Hands-on learning + curious minds = a ROAR-some day in kindergarten! 🦖💚

🎉📚 Magee Elementary Student Recognition 📚🎉 Magee Elementary is proud to recognize our outstanding students who placed at the state level in the MS Poetry Contest! We are excited to share that these talented students will have their poems published in the MS Poetry Anthology and will be invited to participate in a statewide reading celebration. This year, the MS Poetry Project received more than 350 submissions across the state, and we are proud to celebrate our Magee Elementary winners from Simpson County School District: ⭐ Kindergarten 🥈 2nd Place — Reigny Traxler, “At the Beach” ⭐ 1st Grade 🥉 3rd Place — A’Myra James, “Round and Round the Seasons Go” 🏅 Honorable Mention — Cotton Reed Bridges, “Putting Food on the Table” Please join us in congratulating these amazing young writers for their creativity, hard work, and achievement!
